 Welcome to Bomet University College School of Education.


Our vision is to foster research and excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation for sustainability by training professional teachers, mentors and researchers for social transformation and advancement of humanity. The School has highly qualified and experienced academic staff and support staff to run the programmes.
The School endeavours to produce the best teachers for Kenya and the World. Teachers who will contribute to the development of the World’s Education sector through the use innovative pedagogies and current technologies for sustainability.
The School hopes to continuously increase the number of registered students in various Education programmes.

Bomet School of Education
The School was born with the inception of the University College in 2016 with a student population of 130 who were transferred from Moi University. It was established to provide quality Teacher Education programmes with focus on preparation and production of school teachers who are progressive in their perspective towards the instructional process and values professional development. The School is also infusing elements of competence-based curriculum in its programmes. Further, the School trains personnel and researchers required in the Education sector. The School currently has two departments, Curriculum Instruction and Management and Psychology and Foundations.
The School is offering four Undergraduate degree programmes namely; Bachelor of Education (Arts), Bachelor of Education (Business Studies). Bachelor of Education (Arts) with Guidance and Counselling (G&C), and Bachelor of Education (Arts) with Special Needs Education, SNE (Secondary Option).

The following subject combinations are offered in the undergraduate programmes: English/Literature, Geography/Business Studies, Geography/Religion, History/Geography, History/Business Studies, History/Religion, Kiswahili/Geography, Kiswahili/History, Kiswahili/Religion, Mathematics/Business Studies, and Mathematics/Geography.

The School is also offering Eighteen (18) Postgraduate programmes with the following having registered students: Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology of Education, Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management, Master of Education in Curriculum Studies, Master of Education in Educational Psychology, Master of Education in Language Education (English), Master of Education in Language Education (Kiswahili), Master of Education in Mathematics Education, and Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).

The students are placed under Government Sponsored (GSSP) and Privately Sponsored (PSSP) programmes. All the students are based in the Main campus in Bomet town. We have graduated 226 undergraduate students to date.
